At Micromag, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our platform at micromag.app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us when you create an account, design magazines, or interact with our AI services:

  • Account Information: Username, email address, and profile details.
  • User Content: Text, layouts, and data used to create your magazines.
  • Reference Files: Documents (PDF, CSV, TXT, MD) and images you upload for AI analysis.
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, and usage patterns collected via cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Micromag platform.
  • Facilitate AI-driven content generation and layout assistance.
  • Analyze uploaded "Reference Files" to provide smart suggestions.
  • Communicate with you regarding your account and platform updates.

3. AI Processing and Third-Party Disclosure

To provide our AI features (AI Design Assistant and Quick Start), we share relevant data with third-party AI providers:

  • OpenAI & Anthropic: Your text prompts and uploaded "Reference Files" are transmitted to these providers for processing and analysis.
  • Cloudflare R2: Uploaded files are securely stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure.
  • Media Partners: We integrate with Unsplash, Giphy, and Freesound to provide creative assets.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. These providers are used solely to deliver requested functionality.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a magazine or a file, it is removed from our primary stores.

"Reference Files" used for AI analysis are stored temporarily and can be removed at any time through the dashboard. If you delete your account, all associated personal data will be permanently purged from our systems within 30 days.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or similar regulations, including:

  • The right to access the data we hold about you.
  • The right to request the deletion of your personal information.
  • The right to object to or restrict processing of your data.
  • The right to data portability.
